4th of July Fun

We hosted a gathering at our house this year for the 4th.  We had our friends the Budd Family over.  We met them thru T-ball and they were on our team both seasons.  The Budd's have 4 kiddos...Ellen, Isaiah, Brennan and Joel.  They are somewhat close to the ages of ours.  The boys are super close in age. 

We planned a meal, I got a few decorations and we set our tables, chairs, and games galore out in the yard.

Brad grilled our feast on the new grill. :)



The kids ran around playing Cornhole, Foosball, and in the Sprinkler and Slip and Slide. 

When dinner and dessert was done we took to Fireworks.  The guys handled this end of the night festivities with help from the kids on which one to do next. 



The moon at the end of the night.  It was an awesome glowing red color.  It looks more yellow in my phone picture, but it was full and had an orange red color all the way thru!



It was an excellent evening and we cannot wait to do it again.

Love the new grill! Nothing better than chillin' and grillin'! ;) We are jealous of your fireworks! Maybe next year!

So I found this desk I don't know just over a year ago.  It was before we moved.  My mother-in-law was visiting and we spotted this kids desk sitting out at a neighbor's house with a Free sign on it.  Brad was sceptical and wondered why I picked it up.  It needed a little work, but I thought it would be great as an art desk for the kids.  Before: When we moved it came along with us.  I had not touched it up to that point.  And after we moved it sat for a month or so as it was not one of the top priorities at the time.  Late November (I think) we finally went and picked out some paint for it.  The boys and I decided on a bright orange.  Yes, we are talking "Construction Warning" orange! Peacock Lane

We took a trip to a local Christmas Landmark- Peacock Lane.  It is in Portland.  Every house on the lane decorates with Christmas lights.  Several do amazing things! I had not been since I was younger.  I had wanted to take the kids in the past couple years, but we just did not make it. We had a clear, dry night and took advantage. :)
