Our baby is 2!!!

Brylee is TWO years old!! Oh man! She really is all things toddler now too.  Brylee is spunky, runs almost everywhere if she can.  She is still growing like a weed.  She has an appointment tomorrow so we will see what percentile she is in then.  But honestly, she is not much smaller than her cousin Isabella who turned 3 in July.  She is a monkey and a half!  The girl climbs everything.  I find her on the kitchen counters.  She has learned to climb out of her crib, up the side of the boys bunks, the bathroom counter, really anything.  Brylee still has a mind of her own.  She does not want to be out-done by her brothers.  And really, other than taking one nap a day, she keeps up with them full force.  She is my little shadow and helper when Brad is at work and the boys are in school.  Brylee is talking a lot more recently as well.  She is imitating things that we say.  She has some full sentence phrases.  ...

2 Year Olds Times 3

Brylee just turned 2 on Saturday.  The post about her birthday celebration is coming very soon, but I had to take her in for her 2 year Well-Child visit today with the pediatrician.  I always find those visits interesting.  They have you complete an age evaluation worksheet.  You answer questions as to what your child is or is not capable of doing at this point.  The doctor always asks if you have any concerns about your child as well and proceed with the exam and immunizations if necessary. What I find most interesting is their growth development.  Now that I am on my third I really have something to compare! So I thought I would share my recent findings. Brayden at 2 years old weighed 30lbs 12 ounces. (50th percentile regular chart, 90th on preemie chart) Brock at 2 years old weighed 33lbs.  (90th percentile) Brylee at 2 years old weighs 32.lbs 4 ounces. (95th percentile) Brayden at 2 years old was 35 inches tall.  (75th percentile regul...

A Horse is a Horse of Course...

A horse really is a horse, but he can also be a very loyal friend.  We just had a loyal friend pass a way this week. My mom's horse Zane recently got sick.  After tests, medications and multiple vet visits it finally got the better of him.  He was fighting it with all he had and there were a couple days that looked as though he was going to pull through, but he body could not handle whatever infection or blockage he may have had.  Zane was a healthy 20 year old.  In horse years he was mature, but horses can live well into their 30's.  My mom and dad bought Zane when they were still married.  I remember them bringing him home late at night with my dad's cousin Dale and his wife Tina who had also bought a horse that day.  Zane was 2 years old at the time and unbelievably frisky.  I thought to myself I am NOT getting on that horse! He was young and had little training.  My mom had bought him for her.  After my spending some time r...

We are in Basketball Season folks!  Brayden is starting a new sport.  He will have weekly practices/scrimmages for the next 2 months.  He has been telling me to sign him up for basketball, so here we are.  The first practice was this last Saturday.  We got some new "snazzy" lookin' basketball shoes for him to play in.  Here are some photos from the 1st practice: Finally stopped for a quick picture:  Learning to pass:  Watching brother practice basketball: He really enjoyed himself and Brock and Brylee enjoyed running around the gym with balls too. :)  We will see what this season brings for Brayden.  He has to learn it is not a full contact sport first.  But he has gotten some pointers from Dadda and Grandpa John so we should be able to overcome any obstacles. Here is hoping for an awesome season!! Welcome to 2012!
