Swing Set Building

Image
We made the jump and finally got the kids a swing set. We have been looking at them for quite a few months now.  We found one that we like at Toys R Us.  It had been on sale at the end of Fall, but we were just a week or so late on that good deal. :( Brad and I have kept our eye on it. It finally just went on sale again and we had a coupon too! Bonus! After orchestrating pick up of the box and slide, it sat for a week or so in the basement while we waited for some nicer weather. Brad got the instructions out and it said that it would take 10+ hours for 2 people to put together.  Brad's brother Eric got a smaller one last year and it took him about 6 hours to put it together, so we knew we were in for it. He picked a day to start with cataloging and putting some smaller frames together. He then had another day of moving it outside and connecting those frames. A third evening brought additions to the framing and the addition of the slide. And a fo...

PTA adventures

Well, folks I have done it.  I have joined the PTA at Brayden's school.  Not only have I joined, but jumped in full-swing as one of a group of three to be the fundraising committee.  I do have a passion for helping. I saw some places in the PTA that needed some "help."  The first task, planning, coordinating and orchestrating the Jog-A-Thon for the school.  Brayden's Elementary school is a K-5th grade school.  There are about 320 students in the school. Myself, and the two other ladies, developed a plan of action and took steps to ask for sponsorships from local businesses.  We raised money to help pay for t-shirts for all the students and staff.  We got donations from local business too.  Everything from a bike to food, free kids meals, ice cream, movies, and more! People are really generous with donations!! We worked out details of the day, coordinating music, an emcee, local city council members, the police chief and firefighters ran...

Family Dance Night

Image
Brayden's school recently had a family dance night.  The kids in each grade had been learning a dance from the 80's (that was the theme too). We got there a few minutes after it started, but the first graders had yet to perform.  It was a packed place! So many families showed up to watch their kiddos perform, and then we got the opportunity to join in too! Here is Brayden dancing to Michael Jackson's "Thriller." He is the second from the left about the third row back, brown shirt and tan pants. He did a great job!!! We think he had the best song too out of the choices. Brylee and I joined his class again when the music teacher asked for those that wanted to learn the dance to come on out too. I couldn't take my own picture out there, and I think all of Brad's pictures you can't really see us, so just imagine it in your minds. ;)

Easter Festivities

Image
Easter was a much anticipated day for the Neeley kids.  They know the Easter Bunny visits and brings goodies, eggs to find and more treats! We decorated eggs, went to church and brunch, hunted eggs at our house, then ventured to my parents house (after watching the Louisville game) to hunt more eggs and have dinner. It was a very fun egg-citing day! ;)   Decorating Eggs...   Hunting Eggs...  A break to watch Basketball...  Ready to go hunting at Grammy and Grandpa's house...  I love Brylee's face!!! Ha! The girl decides when she wants to smile and when she doesn't!   And a video of the Neeley kiddos hunting at our house.     And last, but not least, our annual family picture that we take after church... Take One.  Take Two. (really like 3 or 4)  Take Three. (really 6) Someone in the family was eager to move on from picture taking, but I think we can settle for the last on...
