Mother's Day at the Beach

Image
I got to take a quick trip to the beach overnight for Mother's Day! We had two baseball games in the morning on Saturday, then headed out.  We booked a hotel that was "pet friendly" too! Rogue was so excited to take a ride! We hit the beach first thing.  Saturday was a gorgeous, 72 degree day and perfect for playing in the sand, water and flying a kite.  The kids were so happy to be there! We spent several hours playing.  When it was dinner time we finally headed in.  The hotel was great! They had free movie rentals and even offered a bag of popcorn when we went to check some out.  Rogue enjoyed the dog treats that were in our room too! Here are some glimpses of our overnight stay and fun in the sand: Sunday morning we got breakfast at the restaurant next door.  It was super yummy! We then spent a little bit of time on the beach and checking out Haystack Rock at low tide.  Brad had never seen it at low tide before in all ...

Mother's Day Celebration

Mother's Day started for me on Friday this year.  Brayden invited me to his class for a Mother's Day party and talent show.  It was so cute on Monday of that week he came to me and stated that we needed to get a violin because he was going to play it for the talent show. I told him that we did not have one and that he did not know how to play one either.  He said well that is why we need to go buy one.  I chuckled to myself and kindly explained that it was not that easy and that maybe he should pick something else that we have at home or that he know how to do already.  After a discussion and brainstorming of ideas he decided he would play the harmonica.  An excellent idea! When us mommies arrived at the school we were greeted by our little ones and taken to a table for snacks and drinks.  After some visiting, the kids started by singing us some of their songs they have been learning in class.  Here is one to check out: After the singing...

Mother's Day Garden Party

Image
On the Monday prior to Mother's Day, Brayden's class threw a party for moms. Each child invited their mom to come in to class and celebrate Mother's Day with them. It was adorable! They each created a lovely hat for their moms to wear. Here is mine and Brayden took the picture. They also had all kinds of decorations in the room they had made. Watering cans (out of construction paper) and umbrellas. The kids recited a Mother's Day poem for us. Here is the video: I just love their little voices! We then decorated a pot and planted a flower in it. And finally we got to snack. Here is Brayden and I enjoying our snacks. It was so much fun and awesome to see all the pride the kids took in making a special day for their mommas! Thank you Mr. Brayden for a great Garden Party! Love you Buddy!
