The close of Summertime...

Image
As we venture into the last few weeks of summer, I am excited, nervous, anxious and ready! It has been a fairly busy summer, but these last few weeks are going to put us into turbo mode! We have an upcoming family trip planned, the boys' dual birthday party and the start of the new school year.  We've had our share of BBQ's at our house and at my parents' house.  We have had lots of birthday celebrations this summer for friends and family, graduation parties, the end of T-ball and the start of Soccer, weekly library trips, and a few other outings and adventures. I think overall it has been a good summer.  We started our first garden and implemented a chore chart for the first time as well. Here are a few pictures from our last couple hoo-rahs: All 5 cousins at my mom's house.  On a play date with a couple friends from school.   Future Horse-back riders ;)   New haircuts for the boys before our trip! :)   ...

9th Celebration!

Brad and I have made it to our 9th Wedding Anniversary on August 2nd! Yep, people we are almost in DOUBLE DIGITS for the anniversary.  We kept it pretty mellow this year since we have an upcoming trip planned, but we did manage to get a few hours by ourselves to just talk with one another, eat and see the Batman movie. My parents helped with the kids.  They took care of wearing them out, feeding them and bringing them home in time for bed.  A big THANK YOU to them for letting us have our "Date night!" We had a nice happy hour meal at Claim Jumper.  Then headed over to the movie theater.  It was a delightful few hours of adult time together with my Best Friend.  In 9 years we have: moved 2 times had 3 children visited 1 other country seen 10 states changed occupations bought 2 cars And had several crying and laughing sessions over various incidents! It has been a roller coaster of a ride for these 9 years and I look forward to what the futur...

No Training Wheels Needed

Image
We have a new bike rider! Mr. Brock has begun riding without his training wheels!!! Another big step for our little man.  He has followed Brayden, in being able to do it before his fifth birthday. He was riding his old bike (the one with training wheels) but the chain kept coming off.  It was super annoying for me to always have to stop and put it back on.  His bell had also broken on it, which was one of his favorite things. Brad brought out Brayden's old bike and was helping him ride back and forth on the sidewalk next to the house.  They spent a good 30 minutes going back and forth.  They would stop for a break, but Brock would just want to keep going.  He finally decided to start trying by himself.  He would go small stints and do really well.  I suggested they move out into the dead end road behind the house.  Low and behold, here is what happened: So AWESOME!!! We are super proud of our little man! He is a rock star! Great...
