No Training Wheels Needed

We have a new bike rider! Mr. Brock has begun riding without his training wheels!!! Another big step for our little man.  He has followed Brayden, in being able to do it before his fifth birthday.

He was riding his old bike (the one with training wheels) but the chain kept coming off.  It was super annoying for me to always have to stop and put it back on.  His bell had also broken on it, which was one of his favorite things.

Brad brought out Brayden's old bike and was helping him ride back and forth on the sidewalk next to the house.  They spent a good 30 minutes going back and forth.  They would stop for a break, but Brock would just want to keep going. 

He finally decided to start trying by himself.  He would go small stints and do really well.  I suggested they move out into the dead end road behind the house. 

Low and behold, here is what happened:



So AWESOME!!! We are super proud of our little man! He is a rock star! Great job Brock!

Wow, great job, Brock. We think you are ready for the Olympics. He looks like he has been riding without the trailing wheels for some time.

So I found this desk I don't know just over a year ago.  It was before we moved.  My mother-in-law was visiting and we spotted this kids desk sitting out at a neighbor's house with a Free sign on it.  Brad was sceptical and wondered why I picked it up.  It needed a little work, but I thought it would be great as an art desk for the kids.  Before: When we moved it came along with us.  I had not touched it up to that point.  And after we moved it sat for a month or so as it was not one of the top priorities at the time.  Late November (I think) we finally went and picked out some paint for it.  The boys and I decided on a bright orange.  Yes, we are talking "Construction Warning" orange! Peacock Lane

We took a trip to a local Christmas Landmark- Peacock Lane.  It is in Portland.  Every house on the lane decorates with Christmas lights.  Several do amazing things! I had not been since I was younger.  I had wanted to take the kids in the past couple years, but we just did not make it. We had a clear, dry night and took advantage. :)
