The BIG WDW vaca
So Walt Disney World (WDW) in August for a week, what comes to mind? Lots of HOT, sweaty fun!!! So why not!?! Planning and saving took months, but Brad and I together had everything ready to go by the time our August departure date arrived. Our planning and preparation was down to a "T" this time around. Everything was mapped out, all arrangements were scheduled and paid a couple months before leaving, money was set aside for food, souvenirs and such, and the dog/house watchers were set! BIG pat on the back to us :) !!!!
We decided to stay at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort this time around. The pool had been re-done since Brad and I visited last in 2000 and it looked fabulous for the kids. It also was in the middle of the gigantic grounds that make up WDW.
Our days were spent at each of the 4 parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. It was a busy vacation to say the least. We were at the parks long hours most days. The kids had a blast! Brayden is a thrill seeker. He will, and did go on, any ride. Nothing really scares him. Brock being the little giant that he is, is tall enough to go on most rides, but still does not like "fast ones." He went on a couple that scared him quite a bit. His favorites were Dumbo, Peter Pan, and Winnie the Pooh. Brylee also got to enjoy quite a few rides. She really liked most of the rides, I think Buzz Lightyear was her fav.
We had some fun-filled dinners at the Wilderness Lodge Whispering Canyon Cafe (a riot where you holler for your ketchup and receive all the ketchup in the restaurant in return) and T-Rex in Downtown Disney.
We saw fireworks several nights, including one night while we were in the pool! We also watched the parade at the Magic Kingdom and the Fantasmic! night show at Hollywood Studios.
We definitely "did it up" as Brad would say with old school hats for day and night times. Brad was busy scouring eBay before we left to find just the right ones.
It was a lot of fun! We will be ready for another Disney vaca in about another 3-4 years :). The kids were thrilled and overwhelmed with it all. They already want to go back. We took over 200 pictures, and Brad filmed over 8 hours of footage too. I cannot pick which ones so I am just putting them all on Picasa for you to view at your leisure and adding more videos to YouTube as well. So grab a drink and snack! We are getting a CD with another 2-3 hundred pictures soon as well from the PhotoPass peeps who took our pics throughout the parks as well, but those will have to be posted later.

The next vaca will be much more mellow and relaxing. The alarm clock will not be set, the view will be dreamy and the big choice for the day will be beach or pool!
