Army adventure

One of Brock's friends from Kindergarten recently celebrated his birthday.  He had a full on Army themed party! It was a dream come true for my little army lover.  This kid loves army clothes, games, blankets, toys- you name it, he loves it!

It was really neat to see the parents and family of his friend Jack, play out the whole party.

























 
The kids were provided shirts, hats, bags filled with goods.  They had to line up and go through "training" with the obstacle course.  They had a mission to go retrieve the captured flag.  They also did a piñata, eating, presents and of course camo cupcakes! Brock had a blast! And now I have so many ideas for his next party!

So I found this desk I don't know just over a year ago.  It was before we moved.  My mother-in-law was visiting and we spotted this kids desk sitting out at a neighbor's house with a Free sign on it.  Brad was sceptical and wondered why I picked it up.  It needed a little work, but I thought it would be great as an art desk for the kids.  Before: When we moved it came along with us.  I had not touched it up to that point.  And after we moved it sat for a month or so as it was not one of the top priorities at the time.  Late November (I think) we finally went and picked out some paint for it.  The boys and I decided on a bright orange.  Yes, we are talking "Construction Warning" orange! Peacock Lane

We took a trip to a local Christmas Landmark- Peacock Lane.  It is in Portland.  Every house on the lane decorates with Christmas lights.  Several do amazing things! I had not been since I was younger.  I had wanted to take the kids in the past couple years, but we just did not make it. We had a clear, dry night and took advantage. :)
