Fire Department Field Trip

Brylee and I were once again able to go on a field trip, but this time with Brayden and his class.  We even got to ride the bus there with them! This totally brought me back to my school days.  Brylee was super excited to ride the bus like a big girl!

They sat in a seat with Brayden's friend Grant.

The short bus ride ended quickly and we were off exploring the facility and the trucks.  The firemen gave us lots of details about the truck and what kind of equipment was on it.  They showed us around the firehouse, including sleeping quarters, kitchen and the pole they use in emergencies. We couldn't try it out though! :(

The kids then got to go through the trucks and check out the controls, seats and all the gear.



The kids got to ask questions and got a demonstration of what a fireman looks like when he has all his gear on and has to come rescue someone.  They reassured the kids that they are there to help them in a case of an emergency. Super important info!


We were able to capture a class picture too at the end!


So fun! The kids were great and Brylee and I enjoyed their company and being a part of their field trip!

So I found this desk I don't know just over a year ago.  It was before we moved.  My mother-in-law was visiting and we spotted this kids desk sitting out at a neighbor's house with a Free sign on it.  Brad was sceptical and wondered why I picked it up.  It needed a little work, but I thought it would be great as an art desk for the kids.  Before: When we moved it came along with us.  I had not touched it up to that point.  And after we moved it sat for a month or so as it was not one of the top priorities at the time.  Late November (I think) we finally went and picked out some paint for it.  The boys and I decided on a bright orange.  Yes, we are talking "Construction Warning" orange! Peacock Lane

We took a trip to a local Christmas Landmark- Peacock Lane.  It is in Portland.  Every house on the lane decorates with Christmas lights.  Several do amazing things! I had not been since I was younger.  I had wanted to take the kids in the past couple years, but we just did not make it. We had a clear, dry night and took advantage. :)
