Brock's First Birthday Party

Brock got invited to his first friend birthday party. He was super excited to go! The invite was from one of the boys in his pre-school class. Oliver is a boy in his class and his mom said there were only two people Oliver talks about at home and Brock is one of them. It was in the evening on a Saturday and held at a place called Play Boutique. This in a new place to us. We had not heard of or been there before. Play Boutique is located in Lake Oswego. They do pre-school classes there and then drop-in classes and play hours.

Oliver had play time set up for everyone in the open play arena. Brock had fun climbing, racing, jumping and cooking in the play kitchen. :)






We then went over to the tables to sing Happy Birthday and decorate cupcakes! There was more snacking and playing and socializing for us parents ;). Oliver ended the party by opening his gifts.



Brock did an excellent job of being as social as a 4 year old can be. I was very impressed with seeing him out of his shell, away from the comfort of having his brother and sister there. My little man is growing up! Ahhhh! Sniff, sniff! ;)

Yeah for Birthday Party invites! Looks like so much fun, Brock! And Brionna, I agree, this marks one of those 'big kid' milestones!

So I found this desk I don't know just over a year ago.  It was before we moved.  My mother-in-law was visiting and we spotted this kids desk sitting out at a neighbor's house with a Free sign on it.  Brad was sceptical and wondered why I picked it up.  It needed a little work, but I thought it would be great as an art desk for the kids.  Before: When we moved it came along with us.  I had not touched it up to that point.  And after we moved it sat for a month or so as it was not one of the top priorities at the time.  Late November (I think) we finally went and picked out some paint for it.  The boys and I decided on a bright orange.  Yes, we are talking "Construction Warning" orange! Peacock Lane

We took a trip to a local Christmas Landmark- Peacock Lane.  It is in Portland.  Every house on the lane decorates with Christmas lights.  Several do amazing things! I had not been since I was younger.  I had wanted to take the kids in the past couple years, but we just did not make it. We had a clear, dry night and took advantage. :)
