Pumpkins, pumpkins

Last weekend we ventured to the pumpkin patch.  The kids were ready and the weather was cooperative.  First on the list, picking pumpkins!  This year Brylee is big enough to pick her own.  We geared up after parking (putting on rain boots and sweatshirts) and headed over to the patch. 

We grabbed a wheelbarrow, yup we are those kinda people, and started looking.  Brayden of course wanted a "BIG" one, Brock said he wanted one not too big and not too small, and Brylee picked up any that she could physically carry.  Haha, they are really like the 3 little bears if you think about it! :)

Second on the list: get fresh Pumpkin DONUTs and Cider!!! We got these last year and devoured all of it before leaving that day.  They seriously are the BEST! The donuts were so in demand this day that we had to wait in a line of about 20 people to get ours fresh out of the cooker. YUM, YUM!

Third up was playing and visiting with the animals.  The kids love the petting zoo area and running around Noah's Arc.  Brad and Brayden even took a little hike into the woods while Brock and I made a quick detour to the restroom. 

When everyone was successfully worn out, our job was done and we headed home.

So I found this desk I don't know just over a year ago.  It was before we moved.  My mother-in-law was visiting and we spotted this kids desk sitting out at a neighbor's house with a Free sign on it.  Brad was sceptical and wondered why I picked it up.  It needed a little work, but I thought it would be great as an art desk for the kids.  Before: When we moved it came along with us.  I had not touched it up to that point.  And after we moved it sat for a month or so as it was not one of the top priorities at the time.  Late November (I think) we finally went and picked out some paint for it.  The boys and I decided on a bright orange.  Yes, we are talking "Construction Warning" orange! Peacock Lane

We took a trip to a local Christmas Landmark- Peacock Lane.  It is in Portland.  Every house on the lane decorates with Christmas lights.  Several do amazing things! I had not been since I was younger.  I had wanted to take the kids in the past couple years, but we just did not make it. We had a clear, dry night and took advantage. :)
