A Last Minute Visitor...


As stated in the last post, my mother-in-law flew in for our walk in the March for Babies. We had been talking about having her visit us, but she originally had some company coming to visit her in North Carolina which limited her time to come here to Oregon. At the last minute, her company cancelled their trip to her house and she booked a ticket to come see us (litterally, 24 hours notice)! Carol arrived on Friday the 24th of April (the night before our walk). She stayed with us for a week.
We were able to go on the walk, have dinner at my parents house (and yes, it was wonderful), go to Bullwinkles Family Fun Center, drive to the Oregon Coast (Cannon Beach), go out to dinner at Outback for what we thought was our last night together, and enjoy the boys last swim lessons (for a while) together!

On her last night here, we got a call from Brian (Brad's dad) saying that he just got a call that her flight was cancelled due to mechanical reasons!?! So Carol stayed with us one more night! We had a nice dinner ( I cooked my famous Chilli Pasta Skillet) and we all played bowling on the Wii- what a blast.

So I found this desk I don't know just over a year ago.  It was before we moved.  My mother-in-law was visiting and we spotted this kids desk sitting out at a neighbor's house with a Free sign on it.  Brad was sceptical and wondered why I picked it up.  It needed a little work, but I thought it would be great as an art desk for the kids.  Before: When we moved it came along with us.  I had not touched it up to that point.  And after we moved it sat for a month or so as it was not one of the top priorities at the time.  Late November (I think) we finally went and picked out some paint for it.  The boys and I decided on a bright orange.  Yes, we are talking "Construction Warning" orange! Peacock Lane

We took a trip to a local Christmas Landmark- Peacock Lane.  It is in Portland.  Every house on the lane decorates with Christmas lights.  Several do amazing things! I had not been since I was younger.  I had wanted to take the kids in the past couple years, but we just did not make it. We had a clear, dry night and took advantage. :)
