The Colorado Neeley's come for a Visit...

Well, this last weekend we had some visitors invade our home here in Oregon. Brad's brother, Eric and his wife Jenn came for a little visit. They of course came to visit the boys, us and see a Dredg concert. We had an AWESOME time with them! They came in late Thursday night, so Friday we just hung out at our house and the guys re-lived their childhood by playing the old Nintendo system. Jenn & I then joined in later when they started playing the Wii. Later in the day we got ready for our "night out!" After dropping the boys off with my mom, we ate at Outback and then went to the Dredg concert. It was a small venue at the Hawthorne Theatre. There was less than 200 people there. It was a very good show! Eric & Jenn were so pleased they got to see them in such a small venue.

Saturday, we took a trip to the Oregon Zoo. It was a gorgeous day here and we all had a great time seeing the animals, especially the polar bear who put on a show for us and the new baby elephant Sam. Later that day we went to my parents house to watch the NCAA semifinals and to have a wonderful BBQ meal and fire pit excursion.

Sunday, was our last day with them. The guys went and played laser tag for a few hours, while Jenn and I took the boys to the playground to burn off some energy! Again, it was over 70 degrees and gorgeous here. We hung out the rest of the afternoon. Jenn & I then made a scrumptious dinner for everyone! Afterwards, we took a few family pictures of all of us and then said our good-byes :( They then headed off to the airport.



We had a great weekend with them and are so happy they came for a visit. Though, it was short, we made the most of it and truly enjoyed their company. We welcome them back anytime! Eric and Jenn- we love and miss you already! Come back soon!!!!!!!

So I found this desk I don't know just over a year ago.  It was before we moved.  My mother-in-law was visiting and we spotted this kids desk sitting out at a neighbor's house with a Free sign on it.  Brad was sceptical and wondered why I picked it up.  It needed a little work, but I thought it would be great as an art desk for the kids.  Before: When we moved it came along with us.  I had not touched it up to that point.  And after we moved it sat for a month or so as it was not one of the top priorities at the time.  Late November (I think) we finally went and picked out some paint for it.  The boys and I decided on a bright orange.  Yes, we are talking "Construction Warning" orange! Peacock Lane

We took a trip to a local Christmas Landmark- Peacock Lane.  It is in Portland.  Every house on the lane decorates with Christmas lights.  Several do amazing things! I had not been since I was younger.  I had wanted to take the kids in the past couple years, but we just did not make it. We had a clear, dry night and took advantage. :)
