Growing Grandchildren

Image
Last week my family decided to gather together and have dinner together for the first time since Brylee arrived.  My sister had only really seen her twice and her husband Tony had not seen Brylee at all.  John cooked us all a great meal (as usual) and we did not go away with empty bellies! It was a good time of just visiting and catching up with one another.  We have done it once a week in the past, but lately our lives have been a little crazy:) We managed to get some pictures of the grandparents with all their grandkids.  If you look closely at each of the kids faces you can see their personalities showing through.  It is quite funny! Brock is as happy as can be with his Grandpa! Grammy and her new little girl.

The First Birthday Party...

Image
Brayden was invited to a birthday party last weekend.  It is the first official invite to a party! It was for one of the boys in his preschool class.  He was so excited to go! I decided to leave Brylee home with her Daddy (for the first time) and I took the boys to the party.  It was at a local Pizza Parlor and I knew the boys would have a great time.  We had actually gone to this pizza parlor a couple weeks prior and they enjoyed it.  The parlor has games and prizes. Here are few pictures of the festivites: Here is Preston getting ready to blow out the candles: The boys playing their games: We had a great time and the boys did not really want to leave, but it was a successful first birthday party!

Visitors

Image
We have had several visitors in the last couple weeks.  Since Brylee's arrival, we had Grandma Carol and Grandpa Brian come from North Carolina and my cousin Stephanie visiting from California. Brylee says: "All these people are here to see me!" Carol flew in first to help out with the boys and the house once I got home from the hospital.  It was great to have an extra set of hands around the house; it made things so much easier.  And she cooked some pretty darn good meals! Brian then flew in for the weekend to meet the newest Neeley girl.  He says she is the first one in over 90 years! Pretty crazy! My cousin Stephanie had planned a trip up from California a while ago and I told her I would have the baby by then so we made a date to see each other. And, finally we got a family picture with Brad's parents.  We always forget everytime we are together! We want to thank everyone for visiting us! It was great to have family around with our new arrival...

Scrubba-Dub-Dub!!!

After being home a day or two I decided it was time for Brylee's 1st bath. I am not positive but I don't think they gave her one in the hospital and I wanted desperately to see her reaction :) Brayden loved is first bath & Brock hated his. Brock screamed the whole way through his first few before he finally decided it wasn't so bad. Here she is getting prepped to get all clean. She was not so happy to be stripped of her warm blankets and clothes: And here is Brylee in the tub! This one you can see she is really enjoying herself: Mr. Brayden was my big brother helper through the process. He would touch her and talk to her. It was super adorable!!!

Welcome Brylee Madison

Our little princess made an appearance into this world on Thursday January 28th. She came out screamin'! It was surreal to be sitting on the operating table going to have my 3rd c-section, everyone thinks I am a pro, but I still get quite nervous about it all. It took a couple days of me going back and forth before I finally settled on a name for her (Brad was leaving it up to me, but he did finally say that he thought Brylee was a great name). Here are some photos of her arrrival: Shortly after we were in the room recovering and being monitored they discovered that she was breathing a little fast and took her to the nursery to be set up on a monitor for a little while. She had to have an x-ray and some tests that revealed she had amniotic fluid in her lungs still. Brylee then stayed in the nursery overnight and the next evening our Pediatrician decided to move her to the NICU. I was strongly hoping that I would not have to have another baby in the NICU, but here we went again. Bry...

The First SnowFall

Image
Well, just a little bit ago we had our first Valley floor snowfall. Brad was working and the snow started in the afternoon. It did not look like much when it started... Out the back of the house: And out the front window: But when the boys got up from their naps and Brad got home, here is what we saw that evening... So of course they had to go out and play! Brayden was all about making and throwing snowballs! Of course the Huskies had to get in on the action... Brock wasn't sure he wanted much to do with it until Daddy got the sled out. Needless to say it was a good time to get out and play. It backed up traffic for the evening commuters around town. It took them on average 4 hours to get home that night. Thankfully Brad left work early and got home after only about an hour and a half, he gave me a little scare as he pulled into the cul-de-sac and gunned it to get up the driveway. And after going sideways he did successfully make it into the garage without hitting anything (my car ...

Christmas 2009

Image
Hello All! Yes, we are doing alright here at the Neeley house. It has been a while since I last blogged and we have just been super busy :) My fault for not getting something up sooner, but I promise there will be lots of new things to come. We had a great Christmas! The boys were spoiled (of course). They got a ton of things from both sides of the family as well as from Santa (aka mom & dad). Brad took a video of our whole morning of opening presents at our house and that is not digital so you will all miss out on that unless you come over for a visit and we can play it on the television for you. Here are a few pictures from our Christmas at Grandma Cherie & Grandpa John's house. This is when we celebrate with my parents and my sister and her family. Brayden showing off his new Cars book: Brock getting ready to open a present: Tractor footers for Brayden: Here is the John Deere tricycle that they all got as a present to share when they are at Grammy's house.
