Summer's Here

School is out for the summer now!

I am not sure if the kids are really excited about it or not.  Brayden says he doesn't want summer.  That kid would go to school all year long if he could!  Brock is kind of glad not to have to go to school, but he wants to see his friends.  He just started building some good friendships and so I am going to make an active effort to keep those going over the summer.  Brylee doesn't care one way or the other.  We have started talking about her going to school though (in the Fall) and I think she is getting excited for that. 

We have some business ready to keep things crazy around here: a couple trips, visitors, summer party/BBQ, a pool in yard (yep! That is a whole post on its own- so more to come on that adventure), swim lessons, soccer, play dates, possible tennis lessons, family get-together's and I'm sure some other goodies!  Just looking at these 2 and a half lines I just typed, makes me know that summer is going to fly by!!!

So I found this desk I don't know just over a year ago.  It was before we moved.  My mother-in-law was visiting and we spotted this kids desk sitting out at a neighbor's house with a Free sign on it.  Brad was sceptical and wondered why I picked it up.  It needed a little work, but I thought it would be great as an art desk for the kids.  Before: When we moved it came along with us.  I had not touched it up to that point.  And after we moved it sat for a month or so as it was not one of the top priorities at the time.  Late November (I think) we finally went and picked out some paint for it.  The boys and I decided on a bright orange.  Yes, we are talking "Construction Warning" orange! Peacock Lane

We took a trip to a local Christmas Landmark- Peacock Lane.  It is in Portland.  Every house on the lane decorates with Christmas lights.  Several do amazing things! I had not been since I was younger.  I had wanted to take the kids in the past couple years, but we just did not make it. We had a clear, dry night and took advantage. :)
