Other Summertime Fun

We have been pretty busy this summer! Play dates, birthdays, crafts, fishing, school shopping, trips and just a few days here and there to lounge and maybe enjoy the pool! ;) Philip Philips at a concert Brad and I went to.  John Mayer as the main headliner for the show.  Brock and Brylee (what you can see of her) playing cars together!  Craft time!  Birthday Party for one of our Friends at the bowling alley.   My cousin getting married (on the left).  And his Zelda themed cake...  A small mishap with the pool and it turned green from algae. :(  But we fixed it!  First fishing trip with Grandpa and we packed a picnic lunch for the day.  Some one LOVED the river!  A play date at a park near the end of summer.  I have some monkeys on the loose!  And a play date at the Children's museum with friends to see the Dinosaur exhibit. ...

10th Anniversary in los Cabos

Image
Brad and I hit another milestone in our relationship on August 2nd....our 10 year wedding Anniversary! It feels pretty good to get to this mark.  We both feel like it has been longer (maybe since we were together for 4 years prior). Brad decided long ago that we were going to do something special to celebrate.  At first all he told me was that I "would need my passport." He wanted to take me somewhere and it would be out of the country. I promptly got excited about all the possibilities, but then also said crap, I need to renew our passports! No fear, we had time. As the time came closer, and closer, we still were debating on where to go, for how long, and the costs associated. But the pieces fell into place and we were off to Los Cabos, Mexico! I will just show you the pictures!   And our zip-line adventure pictures! It was such an awesome experience! I would highly recommend it to people! So glad we did it and had such a blast!   It was an amazin...

Craftiness!

I made a diaper cake for my Assistant manager at work (she is having a baby girl and we threw a surprise party for her last day). I also made a birthday cake for my niece and nephew for their joint birthday party (Toy Story themed). First up, the diaper cake.....and no, it's not edible.  You make what looks like a cake out of diapers and other goodies so the momma then has some essentials she can use for the new baby.  It really is about presentation!   Supplies. First steps, creating layers of different sizes. I used an empty paper towel tube as the center to wrap everything around. Then adding ribbon to hide the rubber bands and add color to it.      Finally inserting the flowers, soap, lotion and toys as added decoration.   Final Product. :)     Next project...actual ...
